Inventors:
Juha Punnonen - Belmont CA, US
Alexandra L. L. Lazetic - San Jose CA, US
Steven R. Leong - Berkeley CA, US
Jean Chia-Chun Chang - Los Gatos CA, US
Assignee:
Maxygen, Inc. - Redwood City CA
International Classification:
C07K 14/705
C07K 16/46
A61K 38/16
US Classification:
530350, 5303873, 514 12, 4241341
Abstract:
The invention provides polynucleotides and polypeptides encoded therefrom having advantageous properties, including an ability of the polypeptides to preferentially bind a CD28 or CTLA-4 receptor at a level greater or less than the ability of human B7-1 to bind CD28 or CTLA-4, or to induce or inhibit altered level of T cell proliferation response greater compared to that generated by human B7-1. The polypeptides and polynucleotides of the invention are useful in therapeutic and prophylactic treatment methods, gene therapy applications, and vaccines.

Guidewire Filter And Methods Of Use

View page
US Patent:
7717935, May 18, 2010
Filed:
Aug 5, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/198915
Inventors:
Ross Tsugita - Mountain View CA, US
Jean Chang - Mountain View CA, US
Assignee:
Boston Scientific Scimed, Inc. - Maple Grove MN
International Classification:
A61M 29/00
A61F 11/00
US Classification:
606200, 606108
Abstract:
A filter system for temporary placement of a filter in an artery or vein is disclosed. The filter system includes a guidewire that is first positioned across a lesion within a vessel. The guidewire may include a distal stop. A slideable filter is then advanced along the guidewire using an advancing mechanism, typically an elongate member slideable over the guidewire and contacting the filter. A capture sheath may be disposed about the filter during advancement. Once the filter is positioned downstream of the lesion, the capture sheath is withdrawn, allowing the filter to expand. Further distal advancement of the filter is prohibited by the stop. After expansion of the filter, the capture sheath and the advancing mechanism are withdrawn from the region of interest, and removed from the patient's vessel. The filter may then be retrieved using a capture sheath or exchanged for a second filter after removing the first filter.
