US Patent:
20120259041, Oct 11, 2012
Filed:
Mar 13, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/419084
Inventors:
James E. Surjan - Sherman CT, US
Assignee:
POWERS PRODUCTS III, LLC - Brewster NY
International Classification:
C09J 163/04
US Classification:
523428
Abstract:
An adhesive composition includes a first part comprising about 15 to about 60 wt % of an epoxy compound, about 35 to about 80 wt % of an epoxy novolac, and about 5 to about 25 wt % of an epoxy-based reactive diluent based on the total weight of epoxy compound, epoxy novolac, and reactive diluent; and a second part comprising less than about 20 wt % of a hydroxyaromatic solvent, about 80 to about 99 wt % of a Mannich base, and about 1 to about 20 wt % of a tertiary amine, based on the total weight of hydroxyaromatic solvent, Mannich base, and tertiary amine, the first and second parts being present in a volume ratio of about 0.8:1 to about 1.2:1. Additives to further enhance the properties may be included. A method of forming an adhesive layer includes applying the adhesive composition to a surface.

US Patent:
20060003128, Jan 5, 2006
Filed:
Jul 1, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/882654
Inventors:
Wen-Feng Liu - Naperville IL, US
Eldrige Presnell - Round Lake Beach IL, US
James Surjan - St. Charles IL, US
International Classification:
B32B 1/08
US Classification:
428036900, 428036910
Abstract:
A film wrapper for use in storing slugs and ropes of chemical anchoring adhesive includes an outer metallized polymer layer and a heat seal layer. The metallized polymer layer protects the chemical anchoring adhesive from premature reaction by providing a barrier to oxygen and light. The heat seal layer may also act as a moisture barrier layer. The chemical anchoring adhesive is divided into slugs of appropriate size for insertion into boreholes and cementing of anchor pins in the boreholes.

US Patent:
20060004127, Jan 5, 2006
Filed:
Jul 1, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/883589
Inventors:
Wen-Feng Liu - Naperville IL, US
Eldridge Presnell - Round Lake Beach IL, US
James Surjan - St. Charles IL, US
International Classification:
C08L 63/00
B32B 27/38
US Classification:
523466000, 156330000, 428414000
Abstract:
A chemical anchoring adhesive includes a first part having a viscosity of about 200,000 to about 4,000,000 centipoise and a second part having a viscosity of about 200,000 to about 4,000,000 centipoise. The chemical anchoring adhesive can be in the form of a slug or rope. The first and second parts are directly joined along an interface, which may extend the length of the slug or rope. The first part includes a resin and a particulate filler of a type and amount required to achieve the desired viscosity. The second part includes a curing agent and a particulate filler of a type and amount required to achieve the desired viscosity.
