Automated Camera Mode Selection

View page
US Patent:
20210360157, Nov 18, 2021
Filed:
Jun 6, 2019
Appl. No.:
17/277430
Inventors:
- San Mateo CA, US
Sylvain Leroy - Bures-sur-Yvette, FR
Heng Zhang - San Mateo CA, US
Ingrid Cotoros - San Mateo CA, US
International Classification:
H04N 5/232
H04N 5/235
Abstract:
A camera mode to use for capturing an image or video is selected by estimating high dynamic range (HDR), motion, and light intensity with respect to a scene of the image or video to capture. An image capture device includes a HDR estimation unit to detect whether HDR is present in a scene of an image to capture, a motion estimation unit to determine whether motion is detected within the scene, and a light intensity estimation unit to determine whether a scene luminance for the scene meets a threshold. A mode selection unit selects a camera mode to use for capturing the image based on output of the HDR estimation unit, the motion estimation unit, and the light intensity estimation unit. An image sensor captures the image according to the selected camera mode.

Loïc Bailliard - Annecy, FR
Loïc Lanoir - La Trinite, FR
International Classification:
H04N 13/117
H04N 13/366
Abstract:
Video information and sensor information may be obtained. The video information may define spherical video content having a progress length. The spherical video content may define visual content viewable from a point a view as a function of progress through the progress length of the spherical video content. The spherical video content may be captured by one or more image capture devices. The sensor information may characterize capture of the spherical video content. A viewing direction for the spherical video content may be determined based on the sensor information and/or other information. The viewing direction may define a direction of view for the spherical video content from the point of view as the function of progress through the progress length of the spherical video content. The spherical video content may be presented on a display based on the viewing direction.

Integrated Sensor-Optical Component Accessory For Image Capture Device

US Patent:
20200387048, Dec 10, 2020
Filed:
Aug 24, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/000785
Inventors:
- San Mateo CA, US
Ingrid A. Cotoros - Hillsborough CA, US
International Classification:
G03B 7/26
G03B 17/14
H04N 5/247
H04N 5/225
H04N 5/232
G03B 17/56
G03B 17/08
Abstract:
An image capture system includes an image capture device and an integrated sensor-optical component accessory. The integrated sensor-optical component accessory is releasably connectable to the image capture device and includes identification data. A processor in the image capture device configures itself and the image capture device based on the identification data. Image data from the integrated sensor-optical component accessory is processed and image data from the image capture data is either processed or ignored depending on the configuration. In an implementation, attachment information may also be used for configuration. In an implementation, multiple integrated sensor-optical component accessories may be connected to the image capture device. In an implementation, the center axis of the fields of view of the image capture device and the integrated sensor-optical component accessory may be in different directions or the same direction, and the fields of view may be overlapping or non-overlapping.

Filed:
Aug 26, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/551357
Inventors:
- San Mateo CA, US
Ingrid A. Cotoros - Hillsborough CA, US
Jessica Bonner - San Francisco CA, US
International Classification:
G11B 27/02
H04N 13/106
Abstract:
Spherical video content may have a progress length and include spherical video frames that define visual content viewable from a point of view as a function of progress through the progress length. Edits for the spherical video content may be used to generate an edit tree. The edit tree may include nodes corresponding to the edits and edges connecting different nodes. An edit of the spherical video content may be generated based on the edit tree.

Systems And Methods For Translational Motion Correction

View page
US Patent:
20190273868, Sep 5, 2019
Filed:
May 21, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/418123
Inventors:
- San Mateo CA, US
Ingrid A. Cotoros - Hillsborough CA, US
International Classification:
H04N 5/232
G06T 5/00
Abstract:
Video information generated by an image sensor for a capture period and motion information of the image sensor during the capture period may be obtained. The video information may define images of a video based on light received within a field of view of an image sensor during the capture period. Relative positions of the image sensor between different moments within the capture period may be estimated based on the motion information. Depth information for a portion of an environment of the image sensor may be determined based on the video information generated at the different moments and the relative positions of the image sensor between the different moments, or based on stereo depth mapping. Translational motion correction may be applied to one or more of the images based on the depth information and the relative positions of the image sensor to warp the image(s) and stabilize the video.

View page
US Patent:
20190228229, Jul 25, 2019
Filed:
Mar 29, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/369163
Inventors:
- San Francisco CA, US

Abstract:
Audio content may be captured during capture of spherical video content. An audio event within the audio content may indicate an occurrence of a highlight event based on sound(s) originating from audio source(s) captured within an audio event extent within the spherical video content at an audio event moment. Temporal type of the audio event providing guidance with respect to relative temporality of the highlight event with respect to the audio event and spatial type of the audio event providing guidance with respect to relative spatiality of the highlight event with respect to the audio event may be determined. A highlight event moment of the highlight event may be identified based on the audio event moment and temporal type of the audio event. A highlight event extent of the highlight event may be identified based on the audio event extent and the spatial type of the audio event.
