Window Heaters

View page
US Patent:
41323530, Jan 2, 1979
Filed:
Apr 4, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/784056
Inventors:
Eugene C. Briggs - Bowling Green KY
Robert F. Shaftner - Bowling Green KY
Harry J. Giambrone - Dayton OH
Assignee:
Koehring Company - Brookfield WI
International Classification:
F24H 310
US Classification:
236 10
Abstract:
A thermostat controlled window furnace for heating a room features a construction wherein the air required for its operation is comprised on the one hand of outside air used solely for combustion purposes, to service a heat transfer component, and on the other hand of air drawn from the room, to be heated in passage through the heat transfer unit and returned to the room to elevate its temperature. The arrangement provided for inflow of room air insures that it will exhibit the general temperature of the room. The furnace not only provides for an effective separation therein of outside air and room air which is utilized thereby but for a return to the room of heated air in a manner to inhibit a chance or premature intermingling thereof with that portion of the room air being drawn into the furnace the function of which, in part, is to signal the general temperature of the room to a furnace thermostat.

International Classification:
B65D 542
US Classification:
229 50
Abstract:
A collapsible container comprising substantially identical, oppositely disposed top and bottom panels, each having at least three edges, a pair of side wall panels for each of these edges, each pair comprising upper and lower panels having edges hingedly connected to the top and bottom panels respectively along associated edges thereof, the upper and lower panels being hingedly interjointed along interconnection edges thereof and being adjacently disposed outwardly of the top and bottom panels when the container is collapsed. The container further comprises tube means disposed along the interconnection edges, and a string disposed within said tube means, whereby drawing the string serves to erect the container by retracting the side wall panels inwardly to vertically separate the top and bottom panels. Alternatively, a rigid frame or other suitable means may be used in place of the tube and draw string.

High Chair Latch Mechanism

View page
US Patent:
49680927, Nov 6, 1990
Filed:
Sep 11, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/405170
Inventors:
Harry J. Giambrone - Kettering OH
Assignee:
Spalding & Evenflo Companies, Inc. - Tampa FL
International Classification:
A47B 3900
US Classification:
297151
Abstract:
A high chair tray latch mechanism comprising a housing secured to the underside of a high chair tray with movable latches on the opposed side of said housing for engaging apertures in the arms of the chair. A bell crank is rotatably mounted centrally within the housing between the movable latches. First and second rigid rods are pivotally attached at one end to opposite arms of the bell crank and the first and second arms are pivotally attached at their other ends to their respective latches. The crank includes a spring which rotatably biases the crank in a direction to engage the latches with the holes in the arms of the chair. A cable is connected between the crank an a lever located on the underside of the forward part of the tray. Manual squeezing of the lever relative to the tray foreshortens the cable so as to rotate the crank. Rotation of the crank overcomes the bias of the spring and the rigid rods release the latches outwardly from the holes in the arms of the high chair so that the tray may be adjusted or removed.
