US Patent:
6475236, Nov 5, 2002
Filed:
Aug 17, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/641121
Inventors:
Gary S. Roubin - Birmingham AL
Geoffrey Hamilton White - Sydney, AU
Sriram S. Iyer - Birmingham AL
Russell J. Redmond - Goleta CA
Claude A. Vidal - Santa Barbara CA
Assignee:
Endosystems, LLC - CA
International Classification:
A61F 206
US Classification:
623 115, 623 119
Abstract:
An intraluminal prosthesis is provided with a plurality of annular elements. Each annular element includes a plurality of struts and apices connected to form an annular configuration. Each annular element has a compressed state and an expanded state, and has a longitudinal dimension which is smaller in the expanded state than in the compressed state. A plurality of connecting members connect the apices of adjacent annular elements. The connecting members have a plurality of alternating segments that function to compensate for the smaller longitudinal dimension of each annular element in the expanded state. The stent may be provided with varying flexibility along its length and/or circumference, and may include segments that have different diameters.

Delivery Catheter

US Patent:
6669716, Dec 30, 2003
Filed:
Sep 29, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/672014
Inventors:
Paul Gilson - County Galway, IE
Gary S. Roubin - New York NY
Assignee:
Salviac Limited - Dublin
International Classification:
A61B 1700
US Classification:
623 111, 606108, 606198
Abstract:
A rapid exchange stent delivery catheter for delivery and deployment of a stent has a catheter shaft having a guidewire lumen defined by a passageway with an entrance and an exit. The stent is of a shape memory metallic alloy and is constrained by a sheath. The sheath has an elongate slot aligned with the guidewire lumen entrance so that a guidewire is not obstructed during movement of the sheath to deploy the stent. The sheath is pulled back linearly by a thumbscrew mechanism to deploy the stent.

Medical Implants And Methods For Regulating The Tissue Response To Vascular Closure Devices

View page
US Patent:
20050004158, Jan 6, 2005
Filed:
Jun 18, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/871902
Inventors:
Sriram Iyer - New York NY, US
Nicholas Kipshidze - New York NY, US

Assignee:
Vascular Therapies LLC - New York NY
International Classification:
A61K031/4745
US Classification:
514291000
Abstract:
Devices and methods for reducing, eliminating, preventing, suppressing, or treating tissue responses to hemostatic devices e.g., biological sealants or vascular procedures are disclosed. The invention employs a combination of resorbable, biocompatible matrix materials and a variety of therapeutic agents, such as antiproliferatives or antibiotics, applied to a vascular puncture or incision to achieve hemostasis following diagnostic or interventional vascular catheterizations and to treat neointimal hyperplasia and stenosis. A matrix of a material such as collagen provides a reservoir of a therapeutic agent such as rapamycin (sirolimus) and its derivatives and analogs for delivery at a tissue site at risk for vasculoproliferation, infection, inflammation, fibrosis or other tissue responses.
