Pivot Assembly

View page
US Patent:
7461977, Dec 9, 2008
Filed:
Sep 3, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/933685
Inventors:
Benjamin P. Davis - Beatrice NE, US
Garry W. Busboom - Beatrice NE, US
Assignee:
Exmark Manufacturing Company, Incorporated - Beatrice NE
International Classification:
F16C 11/06
US Classification:
384206, 384147, 384152, 384213
Abstract:
A pivot assembly to permit relative pivotal motion of a sleeve of the pivot assembly about a pivot axis. The pivot assembly may contain a spherical bearing assembly therein. The spherical bearing assembly may include a spherical portion and a tubular portion, wherein the tubular portion is operable to form a sealing surface, e. g. , a sealing member may seal directly with the tubular portion.

Belt Drive System Incorporating Fixed Brake Member

View page
US Patent:
7553248, Jun 30, 2009
Filed:
Sep 21, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/231953
Inventors:
Garry Busboom - Beatrice NE, US
Steven C. Finkner - Adams NE, US
Jeremy J. Tate - Beatrice NE, US
Assignee:
Exmark Manufacturing Company, Incorporated - Beatrice NE
International Classification:
F16H 7/12
US Classification:
474134
Abstract:
A drive system for use with an endless drive member, e. g. , a belt. The drive system may utilize an idler pulley that, in a first position, tensions the belt sufficiently to ensure power transmission between a driving pulley and a driven pulley. The idler pulley may be also be moved to a second position. In the second position, the idler pulley may both: relax tension in the belt to terminate power transmission to the driven pulley; and contact a brake member to quickly stop idler pulley rotation. Belt tension may then stop rotation of downstream driven pulleys. As a result, disengagement of the drive system and active braking of the idler pulley (and thus the driven pulleys) may both be accomplished via a single motion of the idler pulley.

Seat Assembly

View page
US Patent:
20020140275, Oct 3, 2002
Filed:
Jan 19, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/766107
Inventors:
Garry Busboom - Beatrice NE, US
International Classification:
A47C007/02
US Classification:
297/452200
Abstract:
A seat assembly is disclosed which is ideally suited for use on a riding lawn mower or the like. The seat assembly comprises first and second side supports which have rear ends and front ends. A fabric member is secured to and is stretched between the first and second side supports. The fabric member has an elastic modulus that is greater between its opposite sides than between its rear and front ends. The fabric member is multi-layered at its rearward end to provide greater support at the rearward end or other positions between the forward and rearward ends thereof than at the forward end thereof. A seat cushion is positioned on the fabric with the seat cushion being enclosed by a suitable upholstery material.
