Ernst's backers point out the fact that she has two photos on her desk one of Gail Ernst, her husband of 22 years, and one of Mitt Romney, the presidential candidate she voted for in both 2008 and 2012.
"Yes, she's conservative," Gail Ernst told the Register in an interview. "She believes in the right to life, and that life begins at conception. She believes in traditional marriage and the Second Amendment."
