Telephony-Data Application Interface Apparatus And Method For Multi-Modal Access To Data Applications

View page
US Patent:
6941273, Sep 6, 2005
Filed:
Oct 7, 1998
Appl. No.:
09/167485
Inventors:
Masoud Loghmani - Potomac MD, US
Fred F. Korangy - Annapolis MD, US
International Classification:
G06F017/60
US Classification:
705 26, 704270, 704275, 704260, 704232, 704231, 704 10, 709200, 379 9001
Abstract:
A voice-enabled system for online shopping provides a voice and telephony interface, as well a text and graphic interface, for shopping over the Internet using a browser or a telephone. The system allows customers to access an online shop, search for desired database items, select items, and finally pay for selected items using a credit card, over a phone line or the Internet. A telephony-Internet interface converts spoken queries into electronic commands for transmission to an online shop or database. Markup language-type pages transmitted to callers from the online-shop or database are parsed to extract selected information. The selected information is then reported to the callers via audio messaging.

US Patent:
20060026206, Feb 2, 2006
Filed:
Jun 3, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/143941
Inventors:
Masoud Loghmani - Potomac MD, US
Fred Korangy - Annapolis MD, US
International Classification:
G06F 17/00
US Classification:
707104100
Abstract:
A voice-optimized database system and method of audio vector valuation (AVV) provides means to search a database in response to a spoken query. Audio vectors (AVs) are assigned to phonemes in the names or phrases constituting searchable items in a voice-optimized database and in spoken queries. Multiple AVs can be stored which correspond to different pronunciations of the same searchable items to allow for less precision on the part telephone callers when stating their queries. A distance calculation is performed between the audio vectors of database items and spoken queries to produce search results. Existing databases can be enhanced with AVV. Several alternate samples of a spoken query are generated by analyzing the phonemic string of the spoken query to create similar, alternate phonemic strings. The phonemic string of the spoken query and the alternate phonemic strings are converted to text and used to search the database.

Appl. No.:
14/531982
Inventors:
Fred Korangy - Annapolis MD, US
Hamed Ghasemzadeh - Tehran, IR
Mohsen Arjmandi - Tehran, IR
Reza Azmi - Tehran, IR
International Classification:
H04L 12/911
G06Q 30/06
H04L 29/06
US Classification:
726 12, 709226
Abstract:
The embodiments herein disclose a system and method for providing a marketplace for Big Data applications. The system facilitates a repository of applications, data sets, process compositions and extension modules received from the various vendors. The assets provided by the marketplace are deployed upon receiving the requests on public and private clouds. The marketplace comprises the algorithms, data sets and software systems to generate, share and save the insights for a plurality of cloud users. The system provides Big Data applications on demand from the cloud users and installs the requested application on a dedicated platform adopted for online Big Data processing.

System And Method Providing Hierarchical Cache For Big Data Applications

View page
US Patent:
20150058438, Feb 26, 2015
Filed:
Nov 3, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/531171
Inventors:
Fred Korangy - Annapolis MD, US
Hamed Ghasemzadeh - Tehran, IR
Mohsen Arjmandi - Tehran, IR
Reza Azmi - Tehran, IR
International Classification:
H04L 29/08
US Classification:
709213
Abstract:
The embodiments herein develop a system for providing hierarchical cache for big data processing. The system comprises a caching layer, a plurality of actors in communication with the caching layer, a machine hosting the plurality of actors, a plurality of replication channels in communication with the plurality of actors, a predefined ring structure. The caching layer is a chain of memory and storage capacity elements, configured to store a data from the input stream. The plurality of actors is configured to replicate the input data stream and forward the replicated data to the caching layer. The replication channels are configured to forward the replicated data from a particular actor to another actor. The predefined ring structure maps the input data to the replica actors.

US Patent:
20150052363, Feb 19, 2015
Filed:
Nov 3, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/531116
Inventors:
Fred Korangy - Annapolis MD, US
Hamed Ghasemzadeh - tehran, IR
Mohsen Arjmandi - Tehran, IR
Reza Azmi - Tehran, IR
International Classification:
G06F 9/52
H04L 9/32
US Classification:
713176, 718106
Abstract:
The various embodiments herein provide an actor oriented system and a method for providing communication between a plurality of processes in the actor system. The system uses actor model as the basis for a large scale process distribution. The system abstracts the plurality of processes and adopts a method of process composition and resolution. The method provides binding of different processes in the system to create a multi-functional distributed application.

Actor System And Method For Analytics And Processing Of Big Data

US Patent:
20140379775, Dec 25, 2014
Filed:
Aug 12, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/457153
Inventors:
Fred Korangy - Annapolis MD, US
Hamed Ghasemzadeh - Tehran, IR
Mohsen Arjmandi - Tehran, IR
Reza Azmi - Tehran, IR
International Classification:
H04L 29/08
US Classification:
709201
Abstract:
The embodiments herein provide a system architecture, application model and methods to write Big Data programs using actor systems and asynchronous messaging middleware akka and scala language. The system comprises an actor network connected to a cloud network and to a distributed virtual machine (DVM) network. The actors are connected respectively to the DVMs based on a predefined protocol. A scheduler is provided to schedule the resources to an actor in the actor network. A stop and start mechanism is provided to change a connection between the actors and the DVMs. The system server sends a message to the actor to disconnect an actor connected to one DVM and to connect the actor to another DVM based on a load of a process agent present in each DVM to balance a load on the actor. The system server adds three fundamental operations over actor systems.
