Camron Lockeby - Puyallup WA, US
Assignee:
TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. - Annapolis MD
International Classification:
H04M 1/66
US Classification:
455411
Abstract:
A wireless device capable of being located over a network by a requesting party comprises a phone, and a display to display a visually-continuous location privacy slider having at least five stops. Location Based Proximity Alert

View page
US Patent:
8525681, Sep 3, 2013
Filed:
Oct 13, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/588330
Inventors:
Todd Gehrke - Seattle WA, US
Chih Wang - Shoreline WA, US
Farhad Kasad - Bothell WA, US
Assignee:
TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. - Annapolis MD
International Classification:
G08B 23/00
US Classification:
3405734, 34053913, 4554561
Abstract:
A method of location based proximity alert retrieves, from a location based proximity alert physical server, a current location of wireless client devices and determines if it is within a given area. The method accesses, from the location based proximity alert physical server, a physical law enforcement database comprising a restraining order target identifier and a restraining order limit identifier. A geo-proximity alert message is transmitted if the current location of the restraining order target identifier matches the restraining order limit identifier.

Aggregate Location Dynometer (Ald)

View page
US Patent:
8649806, Feb 11, 2014
Filed:
Nov 2, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/317996
Inventors:
Michael A. Cuff - Clyde Hill WA, US
Todd Gehrke - Seattle WA, US
Farhad Kasad - Bothell WA, US
Assignee:
TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. - Annapolis MD
International Classification:
H04W 24/00
US Classification:
4554565, 4554561, 4554562, 4554563, 4554566, 455457, 4554041, 4554042
Abstract:
An Aggregate Location Dynometer (ALD) in a physical wireless network alerts to a problematic crowd risk using location based services (LBS). An Aggregate Location Dynometer (ALD) comprises a Network Monitor, a Crowd Risk Determinant and an Alert Module. The Network Monitor monitors wireless traffic for a potential viral event, associated with a formation of a plurality of wireless devices. The Crowd Risk Determinant requests location information associated with a plurality of wireless devices in a given area regarding a respective viral event. The Crowd Risk Determinant determines if the viral event also indicates a crowd safety risk, based on the shape and movement of observed wireless devices. The Alert Module triggers an alert of an impending crowd problem when crowd risk is above a given threshold. Historical databases are empirically determined and maintained in the Aggregate Location Dynometer (ALD) for use in viral event and crowd risk assessment.

Enhanced Location Based Call Related Information (Caller Id)

View page
US Patent:
20110255677, Oct 20, 2011
Filed:
Apr 13, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/064756
Inventors:
Farhad Kasad - Bothell WA, US
International Classification:
H04M 1/56
US Classification:
3791421
Abstract:
The current location of a calling device is provided to a called device only to a level authorized by the calling party and/or their servicing network. A configuration file may be maintained in, e.g., a current location privacy settings database. The current location of the calling device is provided to the called device only to the extent authorized, e.g., coarse (e.g., blurred), or precise (e.g., with full detail). The current location of the calling device may be blurred if desired, and is returned to the called device as Enhanced Location based call related information (e.g., Caller ID). The provision of a caller's current location may be tied to an add-on service by the wireless network provider. With such a service activated, the called subscriber with the service will receive otherwise conventional CallerID information together with the inventive current location of the caller.

Location Based Security Token

View page
US Patent:
20110296513, Dec 1, 2011
Filed:
May 26, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/067354
Inventors:
Farhad Kasad - Bothell WA, US
International Classification:
H04L 9/32
G06F 15/16
G06F 21/00
US Classification:
726 9
Abstract:
A third, location-based level of security is added to physical possession, and entry of an authorized passcode, of an authentication token (or security token) fob to provide added security based on a location of attempted access to a secure network resource. A current location of the location-based authentication token fob is obtained, and combined with an entered passcode, to form a passcode key. The passcode key is compared against pre-registered authorized passcode keys (including pre-registered authorized locations for use of the location-based authentication token) to determine authorization for access.

Location Enabled Gaming

View page
US Patent:
20130102394, Apr 25, 2013
Filed:
Oct 5, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/645961
Inventors:
Lynne Seitz - Seattle WA, US
Farhad Kasad - Bothell WA, US
International Classification:
G07F 17/32
US Classification:
463 42
Abstract:
Location-restricted games are enabled on wireless devices, and even personal computers, to participate online in location-restricted games such as lottery if verified to be physically present in the relevant geographic area. The location-enabled gaming device forces or otherwise triggers a network based secure location request to find the current geographic location of the gaming device on which the location-restricted game is attempted to be played. A request is periodically triggered for a fresh current geographic location of the location-enabled gaming device, to permit the location-enabled gaming device to continue to operate the location-restricted game application as being still within an acceptable or otherwise authorized geographic location. Failure to receive a response to a location request, or in required accuracy, results in termination of the location-restricted gaming application.

US Patent:

Filed:
Mar 19, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/847237
Inventors:
Michael Cuff - Clyde Hill WA, US
Chih Wang - Bothell WA, US
Farhad Kasad - Bothell WA, US
Firdaus Aryana - Seattle WA, US
Gordon J. Hines - Kirkland WA, US
International Classification:
H04W 4/14
H04W 4/22
US Classification:
4554041
Abstract:
A rapid assignment dynamic ownership queue for text message sessions queues incoming text messages destined for a service bureau, at a network server. Simultaneous access is provided to any one text message of the queued incoming text messages to a plurality of operator terminals at the service bureau. Initial ownership of the one text message is assigned as a result of a first acting terminal of the plurality of operator terminals having completed an action in service to the text message, and ownership is re-assigned to a subsequent operator terminal having completed another action in service to the text message after the first acting terminal. A configurable escalation queue may be implemented to assign an escalation code to each queued item, regardless of its position in the queue list, to alter the presentation of the queue item. A No Responders Online feature can indicate if all terminal devices are “offline”.
