No-Bleed Pilot For Pressure Regulating Valve

View page
US Patent:
6371156, Apr 16, 2002
Filed:
Aug 10, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/636193
Inventors:
Herbert H. Walton - Marshalltown IA
Douglas C. Pfantz - Melbourne IA
Gary L. Scott - Marshalltown IA
Wayne W. Sloppy - Marshalltown IA
Assignee:
Fisher Controls International, Inc. - Clayton MO
International Classification:
G05D 1616
US Classification:
137488, 137106
Abstract:
A control valve assembly including a no-bleed pilot valve is disclosed. The pilot valve includes a pressure responsive valve adapted to move in connection with a control parameter, such as downstream fluid pressure. The pressure responsive valve selectively connects certain ports with upper and lower chambers of a control valve actuator so that the upstream and downstream fluid pressures may be used to operate the actuator.

Forged Aluminum Actuator Casing For Use With Fluid Valves

US Patent:
20060022163, Feb 2, 2006
Filed:
Jul 22, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/187123
Inventors:
Paul Anderson - McKinney TX, US
Joseph Flaugher - Muscatine IA, US
James Griffin - Marshalltown IA, US
Douglas Pfantz - Melbourne IA, US
Andrew Lukensmeyer - McKinney TX, US
Daniel Roper - Lucas TX, US
Gary Scott - Marshalltown IA, US
International Classification:
F16K 1/00
US Classification:
251331000
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are disclosed for a substantially non-porous, non-ferrous actuator casing for housing a diaphragm and diaphragm plate for use with a valve. The actuator casing includes first and second portions of forged aluminum and first and second flanges around the perimeters of the first and second portions, respectively. The flanges each further have at least one aperture. Also, there is at least one fastening device that connectively couples the first and second flanges via their respective apertures.

US Patent:
61020710, Aug 15, 2000
Filed:
Apr 7, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/287663
Inventors:
Herbert H. Walton - Marshalltown IA
Douglas C. Pfantz - Melbourne IA
Gary L. Scott - Marshalltown IA
William J. Bonzer - Marshalltown IA
James L. Griffin - Marshalltown IA
Bernard Cornu - Noisy le Roi, FR
Donald K. Day - Marshalltown IA
Paul R. Adams - Marshalltown IA
Assignee:
Fisher Controls International, Inc. - Marshalltown IA
International Classification:
F16K 1500
US Classification:
137540
Abstract:
A fluid control valve having a valve body, a cage, and a flexible elastomeric diaphragm with a formed convolution to fully open the cage opening. An elastomeric diaphragm regulator with a flow diverter in the fluid flow path to reduce fluid flow separation and thereby reduce the required flow recovery area before pressure throttling. A raised knife edge seat located on the cage top in a position of stagnant fluid flow to reduce the build-up of contaminants on the seat. An elastomeric diaphragm regulator with a valve actuator coupled to a guided valve stem attached to the regulator diaphragm.

Regulator Valve With Diaphragm Support

US Patent:
52716015, Dec 21, 1993
Filed:
Jul 29, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/921518
Inventors:
William J. Bonzer - Marshalltown IA
John W. Duffy - Tama IA
Douglas C. Pfantz - Melbourne IA
Gary L. Scott - Marshalltown IA
William H. Earney - Marshalltown IA
Robert D. Gaskill - Marshalltown IA
Assignee:
Fisher Controls International, Inc. - Clayton MO
International Classification:
F16K 712
F16K 31126
US Classification:
251 611
Abstract:
A regulator valve having a globe type valve body includes a deformable diaphragm for controlling the fluid flow between the a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. The deformation of the diaphragm, which is controlled by a pilot pressure introduced into a control chamber within the valve, causes the diaphragm to selectively covers and uncovers a plurality of apertures in a frustoconical baffle to control the flow through the valve. The valve includes a first diaphragm support provided in the control chamber and a second diaphragm support provided on the opposite side of the diaphragm. The second diaphragm support comprises a plurality of concentric cylinders and cross members which form an upper concave surface to correspond to a convex portion of the diaphragm so that the diaphragm is substantially uniformly supported.
