Seal For Wafer Containers

View page
US Patent:
6354601, Mar 12, 2002
Filed:
Jan 6, 1999
Appl. No.:
09/226427
Inventors:
Dennis J. Krampotich - Shakopee MN
D. Kerry Kiser - Sherwood OR
Michael D. Peterson - Chaska MN
Assignee:
Fluoroware, Inc. - Chaska MN
International Classification:
B65D 8500
US Classification:
277628, 277630, 277644, 220378, 220795, 206710
Abstract:
A wafer container comprising an enclosure portion with a door frame defining an opening for insertion and removal of wafers and a door for insertion into the door frame for closing the opening and sealing with the door frame has an improved elastomeric seal. In a preferred embodiment of the invention an elastomeric seal encircles the door, is partially inset in a groove in the door, and has a cantilevered portion extending laterally outwardly from the door to engage a sealing surface of the door and a laterally displaced sealing surface of the door frame when the door is seated. Thus a seal can be provided that is effected almost totally by flexure of the cantilevered portion rather than by compression of the seal.

Door Guide For A Wafer Container

View page
US Patent:
6464081, Oct 15, 2002
Filed:
Mar 26, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/817805
Inventors:
David L. Nyseth - Plymouth MN
Dennis J. Krampotich - Shakopee MN
Assignee:
Entegris, Inc. - Chaska MN
International Classification:
B65D 8548
US Classification:
206711, 206454, 220801
Abstract:
A semiconductor wafer carrier has an enclosure with a door frame defining an opening for insertion and removal of wafers, a door for closing and sealing said opening, and separately formed door guides for controlling the interface between said door and the enclosure. In a preferred embodiment, the door guides each comprise a first body and a second body connected to each other by a web. Each body includes a door contacting portion and a door frame contacting portion. The door frame contacting portion has a sloped segment configured to a slidingly, progressively, and cooperatively engage the door frame to properly position the door within the door frame during closure with minimal particle generation by such contact. In this preferred embodiment, the guide is configured to be attached onto a corner edge of a door. In this arrangement, as the door is inserted into the door frame in the z-direction, the first and second bodies exert centering forces as needed in the x and y directions on corner portions of the door.

Transport Module

View page
US Patent:
6736268, May 18, 2004
Filed:
Nov 13, 2001
Appl. No.:
10/013305
Inventors:
David L. Nyseth - Plymouth MN
Dennis J. Krampotich - Shakopee MN
Todd M. Ulschmid - New Prague MN
Gregory W. Bores - Prior Lake MN
Assignee:
Entegris, Inc. - Chaska MN
International Classification:
B65D 8590
US Classification:
206711, 206454
Abstract:
A front-opening wafer transport module has a container portion with transparent shell and a central support structure which includes a machine interface exposed at the bottom of the module and integral wafer support columns extending upwardly in the container portion for supporting wafers. Additionally, the side walls of the shell have recessed portions with engagement members that cooperate with engagement members on removable handles. The handles utilize detents to lock into place in the recesses on the side walls of the carrier. Attachment of the handles to the side walls is accomplished without breaks between the interior and exterior of the module and without separate fastners.

Cable Clip

US Patent:
6771871, Aug 3, 2004
Filed:
Aug 30, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/233018
Inventors:
Dennis J. Krampotich - Shakopee MN
Thomas C. Tinucci - Chaska MN
John C. Holman - Coon Rapids MN
Assignee:
ADC Telecommunications, Inc. - Eden Prairie MN
International Classification:
G02B 600
US Classification:
385134, 385136, 385137
Abstract:
A cable clip includes a housing defining an open space and outer grooves about the housing for mounting the cable clip into a mounting opening, the inner edge of the housing including trumpet flares around the edges of the ends and side to provide bend radius protection for cables passing through the clip and a gate closing off the open sided space. The gate may be attached to the housing by a living hinge.

Cable Trough

US Patent:
6796437, Sep 28, 2004
Filed:
Sep 16, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/244813
Inventors:
Dennis J. Krampotich - Shakopee MN
Thomas C. Tinucci - Chaska MN
Assignee:
ADC Telecommunications, Inc. - Eden Prairie MN
International Classification:
A47F 500
US Classification:
211 26, 361826, 385134, 385135
Abstract:
An assembly for managing cables in a telecommunications installation where the cable management troughs directing cables from telecommunications equipment mounted to an equipment rack to a vertical cable way allow air flow into a ventilation space located between the equipment rack and the vertical cable way. A cable management trough with front and rear walls and a floor, wherein the floor increases in width from a first end to a second end and the front and rear walls decreases in height from the first end to the second end. A releasable hinge for mounting a door to a telecommunications rack and a slide movable between a captive and a retracted position. Placing the slide in the captive position prevents the door from being lifted from the hinge and placing the slide in a retracted position permits the door to be removed from the rack.

Fiber Panel With Integrated Couplers

View page
US Patent:
6804447, Oct 12, 2004
Filed:
Nov 5, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/289167
Inventors:
Trevor D. Smith - St. Louis Park MN
Dennis J. Krampotich - Shakopee MN
Assignee:
ADC Telecommunications, Inc. - Eden Prairie MN
International Classification:
G02B 600
US Classification:
385134
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a telecommunications panel for connecting optical fiber cables from inter-facility cables (IFC) to fiber optic termination equipment. The telecommunications panel receives the IFC cable into a tray where the optical fibers within the cable are spliced and coupled to monitor fibers and transmission fibers. These monitor and transmission fibers are terminated at adapters within the panel for connection to cables extending to the FOT equipment. The IFC cables may be multi-strand optical fiber cables or single strand cables. The present invention also relates to a drop-in tray for use with a telecommunications panel which provides both splice and coupling devices on the same tray. The drop-in tray also includes adapters where the transmission and monitor fibers are terminated for connection to cables extending to FOT equipment.
