Dispensing Closure For Spreadable Product

View page
US Patent:
6688501, Feb 10, 2004
Filed:
Apr 2, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/115188
Inventors:
Susan DeGroot - Pewaukee WI
Cori M. Blomdahl - Muskego WI
David S. Pozgay - Milwaukee WI
Assignee:
Seaquist Closures Foreign, Inc. - Crystal Lake IL
International Classification:
B65D 4700
US Classification:
222556, 222563, 222575
Abstract:
An improved dispensing closure system for dispensing a product from a container includes an elongate or oblong dispensing orifice for dispensing a ribbon of product. The dispensing closure system also includes a spout having a dispensing orifice that is oriented at an angle relative to the closure deck and relative to the flow direction of product from the orifice. The closure system provides for an abrupt âcut-offâ of product and thus provides for the dispensing of product in a clean and controlled manner without mess. The closure system also incorporates conical geometries in transition surfaces extending from the container opening to the dispensing orifice. The conical geometries of the transition surfaces provides for a smooth transition of product flow from the container opening to the dispensing orifice, while minimizing the volume defined by the closure system spout and thereby providing increased âsuck-backâ and an abrupt âcut-offâ of product compared to prior art devices.

Power Tool Handle

US Patent:
6754935, Jun 29, 2004
Filed:
Jun 4, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/161944
Inventors:
David Pozgay - Chicago IL
Jonathan Riley - Chicago IL
Roman Slobodkin - Skokie IL
Paul D. Hatch - Chicago IL
Assignee:
Credo Technology Corporation - Broadview IL
International Classification:
B25G 300
US Classification:
16422, 161111, 409182
Abstract:
A generally C shaped power tool handle has two ends for releasably engaging the power tool housing, with a gripping portion between the ends. One of the handle ends has a release lever, while the other of the ends has an attachment arm. The release lever has an actuating end operable to detach the handle from the tool housing. Additional power tool handle embodiments are directed to a tool handle that has a gripping layer and a storage compartment in the handle, with a pliable lip in the handle for resisting movement of stored tools.

Power Tool Accessory System

US Patent:
6835030, Dec 28, 2004
Filed:
Jun 4, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/161898
Inventors:
David Pozgay - Chicago IL
Jonathan Riley - Chicago IL
Stephen J. Gaynes - Wonderlake IL
Assignee:
Credo Technology Corporation - Broadview IL
International Classification:
B23C 120
US Classification:
408182, 409178, 14413695
Abstract:
A power tool accessory system has a first accessory with a first connector for attaching the accessory to the power tool, and a second connector for attaching a second accessory to the first accessory. Preferably both attachment means are manually operable whereby the first accessory may be attached to a power tool and to a second accessory without the use of tools.

Rotary Power Hand Tool Having A Flexible Handle And Attachment System

US Patent:
6835032, Dec 28, 2004
Filed:
Sep 5, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/656799
Inventors:
David Pozgay - Evanston IL
Jonathan G. Riley - Chicago IL
Dan Williams - Chicago IL
Assignee:
Credo Technology Corporation - Broadview IL
International Classification:
B23C 120
US Classification:
409182, 409181, 409175, 14413695, 16422
Abstract:
A preferred embodiment of the present invention is directed to a detachable flexible handle for a power hand tool and an attachment system associated with the handle and the tool for releasably attaching either a rigid or the flexible handle to the power hand tool. The system has housing attachment recesses on the tool that receive attachment clips located at opposite end portions of the flexible handle or structure of a rigid handle.

Power Hand Tool Having A Slide Switch Assembly With A Dynamic Seal

View page
US Patent:
6864448, Mar 8, 2005
Filed:
May 14, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/437596
Inventors:
David Pozgay - Evanston IL, US
Steven Holzer - Chicago IL, US
Assignee:
Credo Technology Corporation - Broadview IL
International Classification:
H01H009/06
US Classification:
2003222, 200522
Abstract:
A switch assembly for use with a power tool that includes an enclosure with an open top, a switch body with multiple switch contacts, with the switch body being located in the enclosure and having connectors for connecting to electrical conductors that selectively extend to the motor and the power source. The switch assembly further includes a slide switch mechanism for selectively engaging certain ones of the switch contacts for determining the operating characterstics of the motor, an actuating switch cover operatively connected to the slide switch mechanism, wherein the cover is slideable between at least two operating positions, with the switch cover being operatively accessible by a user, and a compressible seal positioned between the actuating switch cover and the switch body, with the seal extending around substantially the entire circumference of the top of the switch body.

Shaft Lock Mechanism For A Rotary Power Hand Tool

View page
US Patent:
6886643, May 3, 2005
Filed:
Sep 5, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/656804
Inventors:
Jonathan G. Riley - Chicago IL, US
David Pozgay - Evanston IL, US
Assignee:
Credo Technology Corporation - Broadview IL
International Classification:
E21C007/02
US Classification:
173 29, 173217, 173216, 173171
Abstract:
A preferred embodiment comprises a power hand tool of the type which has a generally cylindrical elongated plastic housing with a motor contained within the housing and having an output shaft that extends from the front end portion of the hand tool, and which has a metal front end portion that cooperates with the plastic housing to strengthen a shaft locking mechanism located at the front end of the hand tool. The metal front end portion not only strengthens the outer surface of the housing in the front end portion of the tool, but also has a pair of internal structural ribs positioned to absorb stress that may be present in the housing as a result of force applied to the shaft locking mechanism. The preferred embodiment is also designed to enable the shaft locking pin mechanism to be easily assembled and retained without the need for an E-clip or C-clip as is commonly the practice in commercially available spiral saw hand tools.
