Joun Lee - Coralville IA, US
Tim Young - Coralville IA, US
Abdulsattar Hashim Ghanim Al Saedi - Iowa City IA, US
Assignee:
UNIVERSITY OF IOWA RESEARCH FOUNDATION - Iowa City IA
International Classification:
B01D 61/46
C02F 1/469
C25D 11/04
C02F 1/461
C25D 1/00
Abstract:
A three-dimensional photo/electrodialysis unit includes four compartments. A first compartment holds a three-dimensional electrode and a group of one or more electrochemically active redox species. A first electroactive cation selective membrane couples the first compartment to a second compartment that provides a first feedstock. An electroactive anion selective membrane couples the second compartment to a third compartment that provides a second feedstock. And a second electroactive cation selective membrane couples the third compartment to a fourth compartment

Mesoporous Alumina/Hematite Composite Nanofibers For Heavy Metal Removal

US Patent:
20200047150, Feb 13, 2020
Filed:
Nov 22, 2017
Appl. No.:
16/462755
Inventors:
David Michael CWIERTNY - Iowa City IA, US
- Oakland CA, US
Michael J. NALBANDIAN - Riverside CA, US
Assignee:
THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA - Oakland CA
International Classification:
B01J 20/08
C02F 1/28
B01J 20/28
B01J 20/32
Abstract:
A method is disclosed of synthesizing θ-alumina/hematite (θ-AlO/FeO) composite nanofibers for removing heavy metals from a water source. The method includes preparing a polymer solution, the polymer solution comprising an iron precursor, acetic acid and a polymer; adding a select amount of an aluminum precursor to the polymer solution; and electrospinning the polymer solution and the select amount of the aluminum precursor to form the θ-AlO/FeOcomposite nanofibers.
