View page
US Patent:
6956942, Oct 18, 2005
Filed:
Sep 18, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/245324
Inventors:
Christopher W. McKinzie - San Antonio TX, US
Claire S. Vishik - Austin TX, US
Assignee:
SBC Properties, L.P. - Reno NV
International Classification:
H04M001/00
US Classification:
37935504, 379350, 379 9301, 379 9325
Abstract:
A multi-modal address book for a customer associated with at least one account in an electronic communications environment is provided. The multi-modal address book is associated with a customized profile of the customer and has multiple entries. Each entry of the multi-modal address book is associated with a communications partner and includes at least one address. Information of a centrally stored copy of the address book is automatically synchronized with a copy of the address book provided at a remote communications device when information of an entry is altered at either the centrally stored address book or the copy of the address book. An indicator can be stored in association with at least one of the entries of the address book. The indicator indicates that an address book of a communications partner corresponding to an entry is to be automatically updated when the profile of the customer is altered. The updating occurs without regard to the modality used to communicate with the stored address.

System And Method For Creating Electronic Marketplaces

International Classification:
G06F 17/30
US Classification:
707102, 705 1, 707 10
Abstract:
A method for creating an electronic marketplace includes receiving from a first client a request to create an electronic marketplace and receiving information about a product associated with the marketplace. The information includes at least one of first product information and a reference to second product information. The method also includes creating a marketplace metacatalog associated with the marketplace using a template, storing the first product information in the marketplace metacatalog if the information about the product includes the first product information, and associating the reference to the second product information with the marketplace metacatalog if the information about the product includes the reference. The method further includes communicating at least a portion of at least one of the first product information and the second product information to a second client using the marketplace metacatalog. In addition, the method includes facilitating completion of a transaction involving the second client using the marketplace metacatalog.

Method And System For Multimodal Presence Detection

View page
US Patent:
7065184, Jun 20, 2006
Filed:
Mar 23, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/806935
Inventors:
Claire Svetlana Vishik - Austin TX, US
Sreenivasa Rao Gorti - Austin TX, US
Paul Van Vleck - Austin TX, US
Assignee:
SBC Technology Resources, Inc. - Austin TX
International Classification:
H04M 1/64
US Classification:
379 8802, 379 8819, 37920106, 455411, 709206, 713186
Abstract:
A presence device operable in a first mode and a second mode is associated with a communication device. In the first mode, a user using the presence device is biometrically authenticated and a presence confirmation input is received from the communication device. In the second mode, a user-entered log-in input is received from the communication device. A central presence database is updated to indicate that the communication device is active for the user. A received message which is to be routed to the user is sent to the active device indicated by the central presence database.

Usage-Based Adaptable Taxonomy

US Patent:
7162480, Jan 9, 2007
Filed:
Dec 26, 2001
Appl. No.:
10/033215
Inventors:
Claire S. Vishik - Austin TX, US
Assignee:
SBC Technology Resources, Inc. - Austin TX
International Classification:
G06F 7/00
G06F 17/00
US Classification:
707101, 707 6
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for adaptably maintaining a taxonomy defined by a plurality of nodes arranged hierarchically. The method determines a threshold access value for each node of the plurality of nodes, determines a level of access value for each node of the plurality of nodes, compares the level of access value for a first node of the plurality of nodes with the threshold access value for the first node of the plurality of nodes, and if the level of access value for the first node is less than the threshold access value for the first node, merges the first node with a related node arranged laterally to the first node in the hierarchical arrangement, and compares the level of access value for the first node of the plurality of nodes with the threshold access value for a second node of the plurality of nodes, and if the level of access value for the first node is greater than the threshold access value for the second node, promotes the first node to a higher level in the hierarchical arrangement than the second node, and if the level of access value for the first node is less than the threshold access value for the second node, demotes the first node to a lower level in the hierarchical arrangement than the second node.

Method And System For Intelligent Routing Based On Presence Detection

View page
US Patent:
7415502, Aug 19, 2008
Filed:
Nov 16, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/990761
Inventors:
Claire Svetlana Vishik - Austin TX, US
Sreenivasa Rao Gorti - Austin TX, US
Paul Van Vleck - Austin TX, US
Assignee:
SBC Technology Resources, Inc. - Austin TX
International Classification:
G06F 15/16
G06F 15/173
US Classification:
709206, 709239, 709245
Abstract:
A message, which is to be routed to one of a plurality of authorized parties comprising a first authorized party and a second authorized party, is received by a routing system. A Web service is polled to detect for a presence of the first authorized party. After determining that the presence of the first authorized party remains undetected over an allocated time interval, the Web service is polled to detect for a presence of the second authorized party. In response to detecting the presence of the second authorized party, the message is routed to an active communication device associated with the second authorized party.
