US Patent:
8281576, Oct 9, 2012
Filed:
May 12, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/778929
Inventors:
Christopher Parnin - Farmington MI, US
Assignee:
Ford Global Technologies, LLC - Dearborn MI
International Classification:
F01N 3/00
US Classification:
60297, 60274, 60285, 60303, 7311469, 7311475
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for managing particulate emissions in an engine including a particulate filter and a COsensor downstream of the filter. A COsensor may be used to infer the presence of particulate matter in the exhaust, downstream of the filter. By sensing particulate matter in the post-filter exhaust, filter degradation may be identified.
