Automated Modification Integration And Conflict Resolution For Software Development

View page
US Patent:
20120284684, Nov 8, 2012
Filed:
May 4, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/100467
Inventors:
Nir Michaely - Redmond WA, US
Cherno Jagne - Monroe WA, US
Nick Yu - Kirkland WA, US
Viraf Gandhi - Kirkland WA, US
Assignee:
MICROSOFT CORPORATION - Redmond WA
International Classification:
G06F 9/44
US Classification:
717103
Abstract:
Proposed changes to a source code generated by client computing devices are integrated with a master version of the code resident on a server computing system remote from the client devices. The client devices connect to the server system over a network and transmit proposed changes to the server system, where resident integration/conflict resolution software automatically integrates the proposed changes into the master version. Any unresolved conflicts remaining after the automatic integration are identified and the server system automatically sends an email notifying the one or more client devices that there are unresolved conflicts. The email includes a link that enables a client device to launch a window on a monitor, and the client device user employs the window to transmit commands directly to and receive further communications directly from the integration/conflict resolution software in an interactive operation to attempt to manually resolve the conflicts.

US Patent:
20120170788, Jul 5, 2012
Filed:
Jan 5, 2011
Appl. No.:
12/985221
Inventors:
Cherno Waka Jagne - Monroe WA, US
International Classification:
H04R 1/10
US Classification:
381380
Abstract:
A method and a device are disclosed for a portable headset including an attached earphone and a support structure configured to position the earphone in a random position by user action. In various embodiments, the support structure is further configured to be detachably coupled to various different earphones. The portable headset is further configured to be attachable to different seats or anchor points.

Recency-Based Identification Of Area Paths For Target Components

View page
US Patent:
20170132545, May 11, 2017
Filed:
Nov 11, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/938254
Inventors:
- Redmond WA, US
Amit Gala - Bothell WA, US
Cherno Waka Jagne - Bothell WA, US
Dazhi Zhang - Bellevue WA, US
Joseph Wesley Sullivan - Lynnwood WA, US
Naveen Sethuraman Nair - Bothell WA, US
Shiva S. Nimmagadda Venkata - Redmond WA, US
Somu Jayabalan - Redmond WA, US
International Classification:
G06Q 10/06
Abstract:
Technologies for reliably and efficiently mapping any particular bug report identifying a target component to a relevant owner who is currently responsible for handling the bug report. This mapping involves considering a list of developers that have historically and currently contributed to the identified target component, ranking each contributing developer based on a measure of recency of his contribution, considering a list of the managers of the contributing developers, ranking each manager based on the rankings of his contributing developers, identifying an area path (“AP”) in an AP hierarchy based on these rankings, mapping the identified AP to a current AP, determining, based on the current AP, a relevant owner of the identified target component, and assigning the bug report to the relevant owner. Further, the various lists and AP hierarchy metadata need not be centrally updated; instead, crowd sourcing techniques are employed that promote updating of the lists and AP hierarchy metadata based on social pressure to ensure the most relevant owner is ultimately assigned the bug report.

Multimode Tea Making Apparatus For Making Traditional Beverages

View page
US Patent:
20170035239, Feb 9, 2017
Filed:
Aug 7, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/821628
Inventors:
Cherno Waka Jagne - BOTHELL WA, US
International Classification:
A47J 31/46
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus are disclosed for brewing hot beverages, such as African green tea or Ataaya, including using a software-controlled electromechanical teapot to control and direct the beverage through various stages of mixing, boiling, cooling, and dispensing with multiple pumps, while monitoring the appropriate temperatures and time to take various actions or transition to various stages of brewing. In various embodiments, the electrical-electronic teapot includes various indicators such as buzzers, information display, lights, and the like to inform the user of various events and states, such as when the beverage is ready for serving. Additionally, a processor or microcontroller may be utilized in the teapot to run the software that controls the operation of the teapot. In some embodiment, the software is configurable, updatable, and/or changeable to alter the operation of the teapot for improved performance or to change the brewing method for different beverages.
