Abstract:
Non-standard broadcast television signals are processed and converted for proper reception and display. Extra or missing horizontal lines are processed using modulo or digital phase lock loop-type circuit to change clock output signal proportionately according to a difference determined by comparing a standard video signal value with an actual input signal line count value, such that modified clock output signal serves as a clock input signal for circuit accepting standard video format. Non-standard video signal having improper odd-even field sequencing is also processed and converted.

Abstract:
A reduced memory method, apparatus, and system suitable for implementation in Liquid Crystal Display (LCDs) that reduces a pixel element response time thereby enabling the display of high quality fast motion images thereupon. As a method of generating an overdrive pixel value in an LCD device, a predicted pixel value is compressed and stored. The stored compressed pixel value is then retrieved and decompressed as a start pixel value. An overdrive pixel value based upon a target pixel value and the start pixel value such that the overdrive pixel value enables a pixel to reach the target pixel value within a single frame period.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transferring a signal from a high voltage, low current source to a word select line in an electrically erasable, programmable read-only memory wherein a control signal is generated which is incremented in magnitude over time, the control signal being used to control a signal path between the high voltage, low current source and the desired word select line, such that the signal path is established whenever the difference between the control signal and the signal level on the word select line exceeds a predetermined threshold level, whereby the signal level on the desired word select line increases gradually over time to the high voltage level.
