Reinforced Semiconductor Wafer Holder

View page
US Patent:
54761760, Dec 19, 1995
Filed:
May 23, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/247887
Inventors:
Barry Gregerson - Colorado Springs CO
Boyd Wittman - Colorado Springs CO
Assignee:
Empak, Inc. - Chanhassen MN
International Classification:
B65D 8530
US Classification:
206711
Abstract:
An enclosed semiconductor wafer holder, and a cover providing isolation control of semiconductor wafers that is simple, lower cost, and non-obtrusive is described. The device includes a cover with a sealing perimeter that creates a hermetic seal when engaged with the semiconductor wafer holder. It also includes a purging means attached to the holder that allows an active gentle purging of inert gas into the sealed semiconductor wafer holder. The holder has contoured recess-forming pairs that do not effect semiconductor wafer transfer when the recess forming pairs are warped. The recess-forming pairs also have integrally corresponding ribs that help prevent warpage of the contoured recess-forming pairs during the plastic injection molding process.

Liquid Saver Funnel System

View page
US Patent:
53851803, Jan 31, 1995
Filed:
Jun 9, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/257533
Inventors:
Boyd Wittman - Colorado Springs CO
Assignee:
Empak, Inc. - Chanhassen MN
International Classification:
B67C 1100
US Classification:
141340
Abstract:
A spill inhibiting funnel system is described that has stepped fins and blades extending, respectively, from the outer and inner surfaces of a tapered funnel body. The fins allow the funnel to be variably positioned with respect to a receiving container's opening in a secure fashion to prevent spills. Likewise, the stepped blades allow a pouring container to be securely placed inside the funnel and remain there in an inverted upright or angled position.

Actuated Rotary Retainer For Silicone Wafer Box

View page
US Patent:
54527953, Sep 26, 1995
Filed:
Nov 7, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/334949
Inventors:
Gary M. Gallagher - Colorado Springs CO
Boyd C. Wittman - Colorado Springs CO
International Classification:
B65D 8500
B65D 8548
US Classification:
206711
Abstract:
A semi-conductor transport container is described, which includes a box, a door and an actuated rotary retainer attached to the sidewall of the box to thereby prevent movement of the wafers within a wafer cassette during transportation and storage. The rotary retainer includes flexible fingers that apply a slight force against the wafers when the box is engaged with the box. The rotary retainer is simple, requires less moving parts, and rotates automatically, completely away from the wafers when the box is disengaged from the door. Also, the box seals with the door, when engaged with a door, thereby creating a particle free storage area.
