The invention provides a source of sodium thiosulfate via the dialysate used to cleanse the blood of toxic and metabolic waste in patients undergoing hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, or gastrointestinal dialysis for treatment of end-stage or near end-stage chronic renal disease.
