Seven years acute hospital experience, 3 months LVN experience, Two years acute hospital CNA experience as an HSA II at Valley Med, Nearly Nine years CNA experience total. CNA and LVN skills training include aseptic and sterile technique, TPR vital signs and charting, bed transfer, nonambulatory patient bed reposition, wheelchair transport, gurney transport, patient/resident assist with ADL activities, including assisted meals, hygiene, measuring weight/height, perineal care, bedbath, bedpan use, urinal use, foley catheter care and insertion, NGT insertion and care, trach care including suctioning, basic PT and assisted ambulation, and bedbound patient/resident ROM range of motion exercises, bedmaking, room prepping, gathering of supplies and equipment for RNs and etc. From 1996 to Dec 2006, personal experience consisted of assisting one disabled parent with homecare. Parent was affected by Diabetes Mellitus Type II, CHF, hypertension, affected vision from damage and treatment for diabetic retinopathy, limited ambulation due to muscular atrophy stemming from history diagnosis of Polymyositis and vascular disease, and was an ESRD (HemoDialysis) patient. Home care included Diabetes care including fingerstick with glucose meter and log updates, administration of oral meds, subcutaneous Insulin (Lispro rDNA Humalog) admin, observation and treatment of mild hypoglycemic event and sudden severe hypoglycemia crisis. Created home ADL type chart for parent to log diet, meds passed or incidents in my absence. Open wound care per MD orders, including wet-to-dry dressing changes, utilizing sterile packing strip gauze, 2x2 or 4x4 gauze pads, gauze rolls, swabs, topical use of triple antibiotic, Povidone, Betadine, Neosporin, leading to successful wound healing. Domestic assistance, i.e. bedmaking, cooking, cleaning, transportation, transfer to/from car, recreation, restorative PT, while placing emphasis on independence.
