Sensor Adjustment Gauge

View page
US Patent:
49302264, Jun 5, 1990
Filed:
May 22, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/355240
Inventors:
Aloysius C. Shindelar - Hudson IA
Assignee:
Deere & Company - Moline IL
International Classification:
G01B 518
US Classification:
33655
Abstract:
A gauge includes a hollow ferrule which slidably receives a pin member therein. The gauge is inserted into a housing bore so that the pin engages an actuating member. The pin moves relative to the ferrule and separates a pair of abutment surfaces thereon by a distance which represents a number of shims or spacers required for proper positioning of a switch or sensor to be mounted in the housing bore.

Adjustable Spanner Wrench

View page
US Patent:
44832206, Nov 20, 1984
Filed:
Jun 16, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/159615
Inventors:
Aloysius C. Shindelar - Hudson IA
Assignee:
Deere & Company - Moline IL
International Classification:
B25B 1328
US Classification:
81100
Abstract:
This invention relates to an adjustable spanner wrench for rotating a cylindrical rod guide cap having a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart openings. The adjustable spanner wrench includes an elongated handle with a first and a second arm member attached thereto. The first arm member is rigidly attached to one end of the handle while the second arm member is adjustably attached at a distal point from the first arm member. Secured to each of the arm members is a tool with a hardened flat tip. These tools are held in an oppositely aligned and parallel relationship by the first and second arm members and are designed to engage two of the oppositely aligned openings in the rod guide cap. The adjustable spanner wrench further includes adjusting means associated with at least one of the arm members for urging the first and second arm members together so that the two tools positively engage two of the openings in the rod guide cap.

Self-Relieving Fluid Coupling

View page
US Patent:
42495725, Feb 10, 1981
Filed:
Feb 4, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/118267
Inventors:
Aloysius C. Shindelar - Hudson IA
Deere & Company - Moline IL
International Classification:
F16L 3700
F16K 5100
US Classification:
13761404
Abstract:
A high pressure hydraulic female coupled for mating with a check ball equipped male coupling includes a receptacle having an engagement bore at one end connected to the main bore at the other end. A plug is disposed in the main bore carrying a main poppet valve which is spring loaded so as to block the main bore from the engagement bore and carrying a secondary poppet valve having a portion engaging a stem on the main poppet valve and biased away therefrom to a position blocking the main bore from a secondary port connected to a fluid reservoir. The main poppet valve is equipped with a retaining pin which is slidable in a slot provided in the secondary poppet valve to limit movement therebetween so as to allow the secondary poppet valve to be in its blocking position when the main poppet valve is opened by the check ball of the male coupling abutting a poppet stem on the main poppet valve and causing the secondary poppet valve to open when the main poppet valve moves to its blocking position.

Dripless Coupler

US Patent:
43735517, Feb 15, 1983
Filed:
Jan 12, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/224598
Inventors:
Aloysius C. Shindelar - Hudson IA
Assignee:
Deere & Company - Moline IL
International Classification:
F16L 3728
US Classification:
13761406
Abstract:
A dripless coupler containing a female and a male coupler, the female coupler retained within a housing. The female coupler includes a receptacle enclosing a cavity having an inlet port, an outlet port and an open bore located at one end thereof. Positioned between the receptacle and the open bore is a movable seat which mates with a flat smooth end surface of the main poppet valve which is retained within the cavity. The main poppet valve is normally biased to a closed position against the movable seat. Insertable into the open bore of the female coupler is the male coupler which includes a receptacle enclosing a cavity with an inlet opening. Positioned within the inlet opening is a movable check valve having a flat outer end surface which is mateable with the end surface of the main poppet valve. When the male and female end surfaces join, a flush surface results which prevents the leakage of hydraulic fluid during the uncoupling operation.

Female Coupler

US Patent:
43030980, Dec 1, 1981
Filed:
Apr 14, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/139878
Inventors:
Aloysius C. Shindelar - Hudson IA
Assignee:
Deere & Company - Moline IL
International Classification:
F16L 3728
F15B 13042
US Classification:
13761406
Abstract:
This invention relates to a female coupler which comprises a housing, a receptacle movably positioned within the housing, and a main and a secondary valve means situated within the receptacle. The two valve means control the flow of fluid into and out of the coupler. In addition, a lever-actuatable cam means is utilized to both move the receptacle to facilitate engagement with a male coupler and to move the secondary valve means to release fluid pressure within the female coupler.
