US Classification:
707793, 707795, 707796, 707803
Abstract:
A method for utilizing a database for an inspection of an industrial plant includes downloading a spreadsheet from a remote database containing inspection-related data for the industrial plant, wherein the spreadsheet includes selection lists of inspection data. The method further includes entering inspection data into the spreadsheet utilizing the selection lists and uploading the spreadsheet with the entered inspection data to the remote computer to thereby update the remote database.

System For Maintaining Power Plant Outage Data

View page
US Patent:
20040102873, May 27, 2004
Filed:
Nov 26, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/065863
Inventors:
Randal Stark - Morgan Hill CA, US
Ross Marcoot - Gilroy CA, US
John Whetsel - Gilroy CA, US
James Adam - Livermore CA, US
Ahdee Chan - Morgan Hill CA, US
Jimmy Crow - Eagle ID, US
International Classification:
G05D017/00
US Classification:
700/286000
Abstract:
A system for maintaining outage data provides for analysis of the data on a task by task basis. The data is electronically stored and used to generate reports, which may be provided automatically, and to determine best approaches to specific tasks. Monitoring of on-going tasks is also provided. The stored outage data is accessible both internal and external to the system.

Systems And Methods For Managing Inspections

US Patent:
20040143419, Jul 22, 2004
Filed:
Jul 11, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/682030
Inventors:
Randal Stark - Morgan Hill CA, US
Sampath Ranganath - San Jose CA, US
Ahdee Chan - Morgan Hill CA, US
International Classification:
G06F015/00
US Classification:
702/188000
Abstract:
A method is provided for managing inspection requirements using a network-based system. The system includes a server system coupled to a centralized database and at least one client system. The method includes receiving information relating to a plurality of components of a specific plant and storing the information into a centralized database. The method further includes cross-referencing the information received, updating the centralized database based on the information received and providing information in response to an inquiry.

Method And System For Optimizing A Refueling Outage Schedule

View page
US Patent:
20070153959, Jul 5, 2007
Filed:
Dec 27, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/319142
Inventors:
Douglas Mark Jacobs - Marietta CA, US
Ahdee Quan Chan - Morgan Hill CA, US
Gordon Matthew Woods - Norfolk VA, US
International Classification:
G21C 19/00
US Classification:
376260
Abstract:
A method for optimizing a nuclear reactor refueling outage schedule using a computer system coupled to a database is provided. The method includes, in one embodiment, inputting into the computer system data relating to a current status of a nuclear reactor, with the reactor data including information related to current tooling, processes, and financial data; storing the reactor data in the database; and inputting into the computer system a proposed refueling outage schedule profile, with the outage schedule profile including critical path tasks and an estimated duration for each of the critical path tasks. The method further includes generating a gap analysis by comparing the proposed refueling outage schedule profile to a predetermined refueling outage schedule profile, where the predetermined schedule profile represents an optimum schedule; and determining the critical path tasks where adjustments to the task durations result in an optimized refueling outage schedule profile using the gap analysis.

Renew Process Implementation For Reactor Bottom Head

View page
US Patent:
20080130819, Jun 5, 2008
Filed:
Nov 30, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/606359
Inventors:
Frank Ortega - San Jose CA, US
Hsueh-Wen Na Pao - Saratoga CA, US
Henry Peter Offer - Los Gatos CA, US
Ahdee Quan Chan - Morgan Hill CA, US
Assignee:
General Electric Company - Schenectady NY
International Classification:
G21C 9/00
US Classification:
376305
Abstract:
A surface conditioning scheduling process is used to mitigate susceptibility to crack initiation or crack growth in a boiling water nuclear reactor using a plurality of working crews. A plurality of working zones are defined in an annulus region of a reactor vessel flange, and a plurality working zones are defined in a core region of the reactor vessel. One of the working crews is positioned in each of the annulus region working zones, and one of the working crews is positioned in each of the core region working zones. The working crews perform surface conditioning in areas of the reactor vessel accessible from their respective working zones such that the surface conditioning process can be completed in no more than thirty days.

Slip Joint Clamps And Methods For Use In A Nuclear Reactor Jet Pump

View page
US Patent:
20170321726, Nov 9, 2017
Filed:
May 9, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/149352
Inventors:
- Wilmington NC, US
Jack T. Matsumoto - San Jose CA, US
Ahdee Q. Chan - Morgan Hill CA, US
Emanuel Klein - Wilmington NC, US
David J. Bell - San Jose CA, US
International Classification:
F04F 5/46
F16B 2/14
F16B 2/18
G21C 15/25
Abstract:
Slip joint clamps seat on a diffuser end via external features of the diffuser, like guide ears, regardless of slip joint wear or damage. The clamps can be opened and closed to surround an inlet mixer forming a slip joint with the diffuser without disassembly. Slip joint clamps drive or bias the inlet mixer in a lateral direction largely perpendicular to the axial orientation and end of the diffuser to achieve a desired preload force in the inlet mixer and clamp connection. Clamp arms include rotatable halves that, when joined, form a complete fill between an inner surface of the diffuser and outer surface of the inlet mixer. A lateral drive pushes the inlet mixer against the clamp and may include a resistive element. An accessible set of guide ear bolts and lateral driving bolts permit exterior manipulation to axially mount or laterally bias the clamp in the slip joint.
