Abstract:
A system of beam steering using electrical operation. A first system provides a grating and a liquid crystal material. When the liquid crystal is unenergized, there is a mismatch between the liquid crystal and the grating, causing the grating to diffract the light in a specified direction. The liquid crystal is energized to match its index of refraction to the grating. Then, the light is not diffracted by the grating, and hence travels in a different direction then it would when the liquid crystal was not energized. Another, finer system, forms electrically generated gratings using a liquid crystal material.

Abstract:
A method, computer program, and computer system for detecting and classifying atrial fibrillation by receiving data corresponding to an electrocardiogram (ECG) associated with a patient, extracting RR intervals from the received ECG data, determining previous RR intervals for each of the extracted RR intervals and aggregating features associated with the RR intervals and the previous RR intervals. Patterns associated with the aggregated features are classified, and the computer may determine that a sample of the ECG data corresponding to one or more of the classified patterns contains a pattern associated with atrial fibrillation.

Abstract:
A modular network switch is disclosed. In an embodiment, removable interface modules and a switch circuit board (SMB) are housed in a chassis. Each of the interface modules includes a circuit board that is positioned in parallel with other interface modules. The SMB is oriented in a plane perpendicular to orientation planes of the interface modules, and the circuit boards are connected to the switch circuit board. A switch chip is electrically connected to SMB, and configured to switch network traffic between network connections of the interface modules. The chassis may include airflow regions separated by a divider with respective air intake vents. A power supply is housed in one of the regions and the SMB/interface modules are housed in another region. Power supplies provide power to the interface modules via a bus bar and provide power to the switch circuit board via a connection separate from the bus bar.
