Abstract:
There is provided a Raman signal detection including a laser emitter and an optical element. The optical element includes an optical element body, an emitter face with a short pass optical coating, a Raman signal face with a long pass optical coating and a sample face. The optical element is positioned with a laser emitter output beam incident upon the emitter face. The emitter face receives the laser emitter output beam and transmits an emitter face output beam through the optical element body and the sample face to emit a sample face output beam. Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for integrating multi-mode communication modalities are implemented in a communication platform nexus which is coupled to the public switch telephone network, a wide area data network and a wireless communication network. The communication platform receives communication attempts directed at a subscriber, from communication devices without regard to their underlying network transport medium. The platform receives and processes communication attempts and forwards attempted communications to the subscriber over all of the communication media available to the platform, simultaneously. Caller-id information is directed to a subscriber along with an interactivity option selection list, over a wide area data network link. A subscriber enters interaction options selections as call control signals and forwards the signals to the platform over the wide area data network link. The communication platform manages incoming communications, in accordance with the call control signals, so as to notify the subscriber of a communication attempt regardless of the subscriber's location and the form of communication device with which they are presently equipped.

A passive keyless entry (PKE) system, comprising a DC power source and a base station with a housing that includes a first portion being made of a first material that shields radio frequency (RF) signaling and a second portion being made of a second material that permits RF signaling, is particularly adapted for premise entry and is designed to be powered by common household batteries to unlock a premise door as a user approaches within a prescribed arms-length distance from the premise door. The PKE system further comprises a printed circuit board and a low frequency (LF) emitting antenna coil positioned both perpendicular to the printed circuit board and behind the second material of the housing while having a center axis oriented in a horizontal orientation. The LF emitting antenna coil transmits a LF interrogating signal upon detecting a user within the prescribed arms-length distance from the base station.
