Abstract:
A multilayered integrated circuit and a method of designing a multilayered integrated circuit are provided. The circuit comprises at least two conductive layers and extraneous conductive lines placed in the conductive layers. The extraneous conductive lines are made of a material which is the same as the material in the conductive layers and have dimensions which are the same as the dimension of the material in the conductive layers. The extraneous conductive lines perform functions which are unnecessary to the operation of the integrated circuit and are undistinguishable from the functional conductive lines, thus burdening the work of a reverse engineer. The method of designing the multilayered circuit comprises a step of providing a computer generated representation of the extraneous conductive lines.

A method of compensating for carrier frequency and phase errors of a received multi-carrier modulated signal. The received multi-carrier signal including modulated carriers for transmitting known data and unmodulated carriers for error correction, comprising, time domain down converting the received multi-carrier signal to base-band to provide a down-converted signal, the down-converted signal including a plurality of modulated carriers for transmitting known data and unmodulated carriers for error correction. Sampling an unmodulated carrier of the down-converted signal to provide received data samples. Providing a reference signal derived from the unmodulated carrier of the down-converted signal. And, estimating phase errors from a phase difference between the ummodulated carrier and the reference signal derived from the unmodulated carrier of the down-converted signal to provide a plurality of received sample phase error estimates for each modulated carrier.

Abstract:
An integrated echo canceling multiplexor is provided which comprises an echo canceler for receiving DS1 signals for canceling echo in the DS1 signal and producing an echo-free digital logic signal. A first performance monitor is coupled to the echo canceler for receiving the echo-free digital logic signal and determining the quality of the signal. A multiplexor-demultiplexor is further coupled to the echo canceler for receiving the echo-free digital logic signal and producing a DS3 signal. Additionally, a second performance monitor is coupled to the multiplexor-demultiplexor and receives the DS3 signal and determines the quality of the signal.
