Filed:
Feb 27, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/377949
Inventors:
Chan Yeon Won - San Jose CA, US
Seong Young Park - Santa Clara CA, US
Ki B. Kang - Santa Clara CA, US
Assignee:
Air Broadband Communications, Inc. - Santa Clara CA
International Classification:
H04Q 7/20
US Classification:
455445, 709245, 370338
Abstract:
The present invention provides systems and methods that allow mobile devices, such as PDAs, mobile telephones, and laptops to roam seamlessly between subnets of a mobile wireless network and communicate through the network with local mobile devices and/or Internet sites without having to acquire a new or temporary Internet Protocol (IP) address. The network enables a wireline IP router to support wireless mobile devices. The network performs real-time soft-roaming to enable instantaneous connectivity of a visiting mobile device. Specifically, the network relies on the subnets to share IP addresses of the mobile devices.

Method And Apparatus Of Maximizing Packet Throughput

View page
US Patent:
20040218632, Nov 4, 2004
Filed:
Feb 20, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/783281
Inventors:
Ki Kang - Santa Clara CA, US
International Classification:
H04J003/00
US Classification:
370/474000, 370/338000, 370/401000
Abstract:
In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, a method and apparatus for maximizing packet throughput on a network is disclosed. The apparatus comprises means for computing an average packet size for incoming packets. The average packet size can be dynamically changed. The apparatus also comprises means for adjusting an amount of data to be transmitted per unit of time based on the average packet size. The amount of data to be transmitted per unit of time can also be dynamically adjusted. The amount of data to be transmitted per unit of time can be based on both a processing speed of an access point and the average packet size.

User Movement Prediction Algorithm In Wireless Network Environment

View page
US Patent:
20050255849, Nov 17, 2005
Filed:
Mar 17, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/083623
Inventors:
Ki Kang - San Jose CA, US
Seong Park - Santa Clara CA, US
International Classification:
H04Q007/20
US Classification:
455446000
Abstract:
A wireless network including a plurality of cells is configured into groups, each group defining a supercell. Within each supercell, a plurality of boundary cells defines an outer boundary of the supercell. Each boundary cell is adjacent to at least two other supercells. The wireless network also include a plurality of control devices, one control device corresponding to each supercell. Each control device controls communications within the plurality of cells of the corresponding supercell. Each control device utilizes a predictive algorithm to identify the at least two supercells adjacent to a given boundary cell and transmits data packets to a wireless device located in the given boundary cell and to the at least two supercells adjacent to the given boundary cell.

Golf Putter With A Detachable Soft Pad Utilizing Magnets

View page
US Patent:
20060166754, Jul 27, 2006
Filed:
Jan 21, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/040228
Inventors:
Ki Kang - Glendale CA, US
International Classification:
A63B 69/36
US Classification:
473242000, 473251000, 473340000, 473342000
Abstract:
A golf putter, for increasing the accuracy of the direction of the putted ball, has a soft and flexible pad on the surface of the putter. The soft and flexible pad is attached on a metal plate. Magnets are embedded in the putter head to hold the soft and flexible pad, which is attached to the metal plate. The soft and flexible pad absorbs the repulsion of the ball, and expands the contact point to offset with movement of angles. The soft and flexible pad helps to improve the accuracy of the putted golf ball's direction.

US Patent:
20070093315, Apr 26, 2007
Filed:
Oct 26, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/258322
Inventors:
Ki Kang - Glendale CA, US
International Classification:
A63B 53/00
US Classification:
473342000, 473327000
Abstract:
A golf driver club head with air holes, for increasing the speed of the driver and the accuracy of the flying direction of the ball, is provided. The front face of the driver club head is flat. Two shallow vertical arc shape holes are developed on the left side and another two shallow vertical arc shape holes are developed on the right side of the front face of the club head. One circular hole is developed at the center of the rear face of the club head. Air comes through the four vertical arc shape holes and passes through the empty inner space of the club head and goes out through the circular hole.

Multiple Transformer Switch Mode Power Supply

View page
US Patent:
51249065, Jun 23, 1992
Filed:
Jan 12, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/464224
Inventors:
Ki D. Kang - Saratoga CA
International Classification:
H02M 3335
US Classification:
363 21
Abstract:
A switch mode power supply (10) including a switch control circuit (26), a switching device (28), and a plurality of transformers (38) and (40) is disclosed. Turns ratios of the transformers (38) and (40) are selected to produce desired output voltages within acceptable tolerances. A voltage from an output (46) is selected as a feedback voltage and is provided through an isolator (76) to the switch control circuit (26) for regulation thereof. The power supply (10) is characterized in that desired output voltages are produced without the use of supplementary voltage regulators. Output voltages from the transformers (38) are combined and rectified, as required, to produce needed derivative voltages.
