Acme Packet
Acme Packet Innovation Awards are presented to individual contributors that have gone above and beyond their daily responsibilities to introduce something new; a new idea, method, or device: a novelty. It can be Technology, Code, Process, things that affect Acme Packet culture. The innovation program was created as a means to encourage and recognize innovation within our organization. I was awarded the 2012 Acme Packet Silver-Level Innovation Award for my work on the NN9200 System Exerciser. The NN9200 is Acme Packet's a carrier-grade 7 RU chassis-based Session Border Controller. http://www.acmepacket.com/products-services/service-provider-products/service-provider-platforms/net-net-9200

http://www.bu.edu/ece/undergraduate/senior-design-project/senior-design-projects-2007/autonomous-vehicle-navigation-with-obstacle-avoidance/ Esplanade Runner is a system that enables a mobile platform to navigate a route defined using Google maps while avoiding obstacles in its path without human intervention. The system consists of a PDA for high-level navigation algorithms, a microcontroller for real-time obstacle avoidance and intra-component communication, a handheld GPS unit for positional data, and a compass for directional information. The $2000 system has a potential impact in both military and commercial applications. Military needs for autonomous vehicles and self-guided navigation are rising at a rapid pace due to an growing emphasis on streamlining operations and increasing safety. In the commercial sector, there is an exploding market for this technology in guiding road vehicles through smart cruise control and automated parallel parking.
