A facility for distributing electronic coupons is described. The facility presents to a user indications of each of at least one coupon pack. Each coupon pack comprises a plurality of independently-redeemable electronic coupons. The facility receives user input selecting an indicated coupon pack, and uses payment information associated with the user to collect a price indicated for the selected coupon pack. The facility then makes the selected coupon pack available for use by the user such that the user may redeem any of the electronic coupons of the selected coupon pack.

Abstract:
A hydraulic power supply unit has a fluid reservoir and a motor-driven pump which delivers fluid under pressure to a hydraulic system through a check valve in a fluid supply line. A hydraulic pressure accumulator downstream of the check valve helps maintain the system under a predetermined pressure. An accumulator pressure release valve automatically relieves the accumulator and thus the connected system of hydraulic pressure when the pump is inactive. The valve has a valve body with a pilot port connected to the discharge side of the pump upstream of the check valve, an accumulator port in communication with the accumulator and a return port in communication with the reservoir. Internal passages within the valve body interconnect the pilot, accumulator and return ports. A movable valve member within the valve body moves to a closed position when the pump operates to block flow from the accumulator port to the return port, thereby pressurizing the accumulator and the system. Opposed surfaces of the movable valve member in its closed position are subjected, respectively, to pump discharge pressure acting through the pilot port and accumulator pressure acting through the accumulator port.

Abstract:
The joint comprises a pair of parallel tongues of uniform thickness on an edge of one member which are pressed into grooves of uniform width in another member. The grooves are inclined from top to bottom relative to each other, bending the tongues out of parallelism and thereby locking them in the grooves to form a self-locking joint equivalent to a dovetail joint. Such tongues on the top and bottom edges of a vertical member are pressed into longitudinal grooves in elongated top and bottom chord members to form an I-beam or truss section. The tongues may be formed on the edge of a board or they may comprise the opposite face sheets on a plywood panel. Also, the joint members may be metal.

A truss to be tested is laid on its side on a table having an upstanding flange along one side. A load cell is interposed between one end of the bottom chord of the truss and the table flange and a block is interposed between the opposite end of the bottom chord and the table flange. A flattened flexible tube is disposed on edge along a similar flange on the opposite side of the table. Blocks are inserted between the flexible tube and the top chord of the truss to simulate a uniform snow load when the tube is inflated. One-half the total load is measured directly by the load cell and the deflection of the center of the bottom chord is measured by a scale on the table. If the deflection remains within an allowable amount so as not to close a limit switch within a prescribed loading interval, a timer actuates a rubber stamp to mark the truss as having passed the test.

Abstract:
The leading ends of a tongued web member and a pair of grooved chord members are moved longitudinally against stops, with the trailing ends of the chord members spread apart in divergent relation. A pair of opposed pistons presses the leading ends of the chord members toward the opposite side edges of the web member, forcing the tongues on the web member into the grooves of the chord members, which grooves have previously been coated with glue. Then the stops and pistons are retracted and the three members, thus joined together at their leading ends, are advanced between a pair of rubber tired drive wheels, meanwhile allowing the divergent trailing ends of the chord members to swing toward each other as the members progress through the drive wheels. The drive wheels are power driven to feed the assembled beam through sizing rollers which progressively squeeze the chord members toward each other as may be necessary to produce a beam of predetermined width dimension.

Abstract:
A rotary shredder for waste materials has a pair of counterrotating cutting shafts, each of which mounts a series of spaced-apart disc-type cutters. The cutters on one shaft extend into the spaces between cutters on the other shaft so that the cutters on the two shafts coact to shred material fed therebetween. The two shafts are driven by a reversible radial piston hydraulic motor through a gear train arranged to rotate one cutter shaft at twice the speed of the other. The hydraulic motor is driven by an electric motor-driven fixed or variable displacement pump. A flow-reversing valve in the hydraulic motor control circuit controls the direction of fluid flow through the hydraulic motor. The reversing valve is electrically actuated automatically by a fluid pressure-operated switch to reverse flow and the direction of rotation of the cutters to prevent jamming whenever fluid pressure in the motor circuit rises to an abnormally high level. Upon detecting high pressure, the switch energizes a time delay relay which closes a relay contact to energize a solenoid which actuates the flow-reversing valve for a predetermined time period, after which the valve shifts to its normal position to operate the hydraulic motor in its normal directional mode to resume shredding.
