Object Locator System

View page
US Patent:
6904000, Jun 7, 2005
Filed:
Nov 14, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/712231
Inventors:
Fu Ching Lee - Beverly Hills CA, US
International Classification:
H04B001/59
US Classification:
367128, 367 2
Abstract:
This invention is a system for locating an object. A tag unit () that is attached or embedded into the object to be located generates radio frequency signals when excited by an ultrasonic wave (). The locator unit () generates the ultrasonic wave () and receives radio frequency signals from the tag unit (). The locator unit () determines the signal strength of the received radio frequency signal and provides a representation of the strength. By monitoring the signal strength indication, the user will be directed to the object.

Apparatus For Determining Projectile's Velocity

View page
US Patent:
7038764, May 2, 2006
Filed:
Oct 23, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/690968
Inventors:
Fu Ching Lee - Beverly Hills CA, US
International Classification:
G01P 3/36
US Classification:
356 28, 273333
Abstract:
This invention is an apparatus and method for determining the velocity of a projectile. A light curtain unit () creates two light curtains ()() and two sensing planes ()(). The projectile causes light from the light curtain ()() to be reflected into the detectors () and () of the sensing planes ()(). The time for a projectile to pass through one sensing plane to the other is measured and calculated for display by the Display Unit ().

Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor

View page
US Patent:
7170302, Jan 30, 2007
Filed:
Jun 27, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/133023
Inventors:
Fu Ching Lee - Los Angeles CA, US
International Classification:
G01R 27/26
US Classification:
324690, 324664, 324689
Abstract:
A capacitive soil moisture sensor that is easy to install, does not require complex calibration, can sense moisture at a particular depth, can accommodate soils of different composition, does not alter soil densities, provides fast response to changes in moisture and provides stable long term use. The sensor comprising of a body () onto which is attached a plurality of first electrode () and a plurality of second electrode (). A plurality of protective layer () of low dielectric constant material is applied over the electrodes and against the body () to provide a physical barrier to prevent a conduction path from the first electrode () to the second electrode () and to provide protection against physical damage. The first and second electrodes (), (), once inserted into the soil, forms a capacitor with the soil as the dielectric. A change in soil moisture causes the capacitance of the sensor to change.

Activator Circuit Responsive To Power Line Disturbances

View page
US Patent:
7215245, May 8, 2007
Filed:
May 31, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/140089
Inventors:
Fu Ching Lee - Los Angeles CA, US
International Classification:
G08B 1/08
US Classification:
34053812, 34053816, 34031013, 34031017, 340635
Abstract:
An activator circuit responsive to power line disturbances. In condition of false alarm, the user will toggle a local light switch causing electrical disturbances on the power line. The activator circuit detects these disturbances and activates an output, which is further connected to the silence function on the detector, silencing the false alarm. The activator circuit comprising a power line interface circuit, a signal conditioning circuit, a threshold detector circuit, a pulse train comparison circuit and an output circuit.

Guided Tour System

View page
US Patent:
20050119903, Jun 2, 2005
Filed:
Dec 1, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/724466
Inventors:
Fu Lee - Los Angeles CA, US
International Classification:
G06F017/60
US Classification:
705001000
Abstract:
A guided tour system. Tour data including a plurality of item of interest are stored in a memory array. A user interface allows a user to select a particular tour of interest. The system determines a current location by means of a GPS receiver and along with the selected tour data, a direction and distance to the item of interest is calculated. The direction and distance information is display to the user to aid in directing the user to the item of interest. Once the user arrives at the item of interest, information regarding the item of interest is displayed. A next item of interest is similarly processed until the tour is completed.

Interactive Reading System

US Patent:
20050123888, Jun 9, 2005
Filed:
Dec 5, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/730340
Inventors:
Fu Lee - Los Angeles CA, US
International Classification:
G09B005/00
US Classification:
434317000
Abstract:
This invention is an interactive reading system comprising a book or other similar printed material and a reading wand. The book can be of varied design and can be manufactured using existing printing methods. The reading wand comprising an electronic circuitry that will decode words on the book and provide audio playback of the associated word.
