Abstract:
A pH sensing bioreaction system is provided. The system includes a bioreaction container having a plastic wall and a pH sensor attached to the plastic wall. The pH sensor includes a sensor body having a flange that is sealingly attached to the plastic wall. The sensor body has a reference electrolyte therein and a first sensing element disposed in the reference electrolyte. The first sensing element is configured to contact both the reference electrolyte and a sample solution inside the bioreaction container. A second sensing element is positionable into an interior of the bioreaction container. The pH sensor has a plurality of configurations that include a booted configuration in which at least one sensing element is isolated from the interior of the bioreaction container, and a service configuration in which the at least one sensing element is fluidically coupled to the interior of the bioreaction container.

Abstract:
A contacting-type conductivity sensor is provided. A first insulating layer has a proximal surface to contact a liquid sample, and an opposite, distal surface. A plurality of electrodes is disposed on the proximal surface of the first insulating layer. Each of a plurality of conductive vias is electrically coupled to a respective one of the plurality of electrodes, where each via defines a conductive path from the proximal surface to the distal surface of the first insulating layer. A plurality of traces is disposed adjacent the distal surface of the first insulating layer, and each of the plurality of traces is electrically coupled to a respective one of the plurality of conductive vias. A plurality of conductors is provided where each conductor is electrically coupled to a respective one of the plurality of traces. A cover layer is coupled to the first insulating layer.

Abstract:
A method of operating a sterilizer includes imaging a load of instruments to obtain an optical image and/or thermal image of the load, and selecting a sterilization cycle to be performed by the sterilizer based on one or more characteristics of the load determined from the image of the load. The characteristics may include the number of instruments, the presence of a diffusion-restricted space, the volume of the load, and the temperature of the load. The method may further include adjusting the sterilization cycle based on the characteristics of the load.

Abstract:
A helmet includes a shell having an interior surface and a padding configured to provide progressive impact resistance. The padding includes a first padding layer and a second padding layer. The first padding layer has a first side configured to conform to the interior surface of the shell and an opposing second side that defines a plurality of first continuous extensions arranged in a spaced configuration defining a plurality of first recesses therebetween. The second padding layer has a third side configured to conform to a head of a wearer of the helmet and an opposing fourth side that defines a plurality of second continuous extensions arranged in a spaced configuration defining a plurality of second recesses therebetween.
