Concurrent Parsing And Processing Of Html And Javascript®

View page
US Patent:
8413047, Apr 2, 2013
Filed:
May 12, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/106064
Inventors:
Christopher A. Vick - Santa Clara CA, US
Bin Wang - Santa Clara CA, US
Mehrdad Mohammad H Reshadi - Santa Clara CA, US
Assignee:
QUALCOMM Incorporated - San Diego CA
International Classification:
G06F 17/27
US Classification:
715237, 715234, 717115, 717119, 717139
Abstract:
The aspects enable a processor to concurrently execute markup language code (e. g. , HTML) having embedded scripting language code (e. g. , JAVASCRIPT) during a page load operation by a browser. A markup language parser parses markup language code until embedded scripting language code is encountered. The segment of embedded scripting language code is extracted for execution by a scripting language engine which proceeds concurrently with speculative parsing of the markup language code. Markup language code generated by execution of scripting language code is evaluated to determine if it is well formed, and a partial rollback of the markup language parse and re-parsing of portions of the markup language code is accomplished if not. Concurrent parsing of markup language code and execution of scripting language code, with partial roll back of the parsing process when necessary, continues until all markup language code has been parsed and all scripting language code has been executed.

Machine Learning Method To Identify Independent Tasks For Parallel Layout In Web Browsers

View page
US Patent:
8510237, Aug 13, 2013
Filed:
Jul 13, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/182244
Inventors:
Gheorghe C. Cascaval - Santa Clara CA, US
Adrian L. D. Sampson - Santa Clara CA, US
Bin Wang - Fremont CA, US
Assignee:
QUALCOMM Incorporated - San Diego CA
International Classification:
G06F 15/18
G06N 99/00
US Classification:
706 12
Abstract:
Methods and devices for accelerating web page rendering include processing web pages and gathering web page element information, performing machine learning analysis on the gathered web page element information to identify patterns in layout independence correlated to web page element information, and training a classifier to predict sub-tree independence based on element information in a web page script. The predicted sub-tree independence may be used to concurrently process portions of a web page to be rendered to reduce the time required to render the page. Sub-trees may be conditionally independent, in which case, the conditionally independent sub-trees may be made independent by speculating data to render the sub-trees independent, or by performing a task to obtain the certain information to render the sub-tree independent.

Memoizing Web-Browsing Computation With Dom-Based Isomorphism

View page
US Patent:
20110258532, Oct 20, 2011
Filed:
Apr 28, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/096131
Inventors:
Luis CEZE - Santa Clara CA, US
Gheorghe C. Cascaval - Santa Clara CA, US
Bin Wang - Fremont CA, US
Michael P. Mahan - San Diego CA, US
Chetan S. Dhillon - San Diego CA, US
Wendell Ruotsi - San Diego CA, US
Vikram Mandyam - San Diego CA, US
International Classification:
G06F 17/00
US Classification:
715234
Abstract:
Methods and devices for accelerating webpage rendering by a browser store document object model (DOM) tree structures and computations of rendered pages, and compare portions of a DOM tree of pages being render to determining if portions of the DOM tree structures match. If a DOM tree of a webpage to be rendered matches a DOM tree stored in memory, the computations associated with the match DOM tree may be recalled from memory, obviating the need to perform the calculations to render the page. A tree isomorphism algorithm may be used to recognize DOM trees stored in memory that match the DOM tree of the webpage to be rendered. Reusing rendering computations may significantly reducing the time and resources required for rendering web pages. Identifying reusable portions of calculation results based on DOM tree isomorphism enables the browser to reuse stored webpage rendering calculations even when URLs do not match.

Multi-Path Routing

View page
US Patent:
20190075042, Mar 7, 2019
Filed:
Aug 6, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/056360
Inventors:
- Seattle WA, US
Bin Wang - Fremont CA, US
Scott Wright Heath - Fairfax CA, US
International Classification:
H04L 12/707
H04L 29/06
H04L 12/26
H04L 12/801
H04L 12/927
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for dynamically routing packets using multi-flow and multi-path multiplexing connections. A first computing device and second computing device communicate via a plurality of data flows, which may be routed across various network paths. Each flow is defined by a set of network addresses, a set of ports, and a protocol specification, such as UDP. The second device sends information to the first device regarding the various data flows. The first device may send probing packets to facilitate collecting data flow information. Information may include latency, packet loss, and other values. Based on the information received, the first device may select or prioritize data flows to mitigate congestion, and address performance criteria. The first device may also transmit information regarding selected data flows to other devices, allowing the other devices to utilize a selected data flow even if they lack multiplexing capability.
