Digital Media Player Exposing Operational State Data

View page
US Patent:
7904580, Mar 8, 2011
Filed:
Jun 30, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/174430
Inventors:
Sandip Mandera - Portland OR, US
Elizabeth Cordova - Folsom CA, US
Assignee:
Intel Corporation - Santa Clara CA
International Classification:
G06F 15/16
G06F 15/173
G06F 11/00
H04N 7/16
US Classification:
709231, 709219, 709224, 725141, 725147, 714 48
Abstract:
A software based digital media player that provides component interfaces allowing inspection, testing and manipulation of operational state data between the digital media player and a device or devices attached thereto. Providing an opportunity for detailed analysis of such data allows, for example, testing operation of a prototype next-generation device when the corresponding next generation digital media player hardware is non-existent or otherwise hard to acquire for testing purposes. In addition, even were the corresponding next generation digital media player available, it would not provide the same opportunity for detailed analysis as discussed and described herein.

System And Method For Automated Auctioning Of Web Services

View page
US Patent:
7953646, May 31, 2011
Filed:
Dec 4, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/999463
Inventors:
Kim Pallister - Beaverton OR, US
Sandip H. Mandera - Portland OR, US
Assignee:
Intel Corporation - Santa Clara CA
International Classification:
G06Q 30/00
US Classification:
705 2635, 705 7, 705 1423, 705 26, 705 27, 705 37
Abstract:
An automated auctioning system includes a customer, a web services register server (such as an Extended Markup Language (XML)-based registry server like an Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) registry) and a number of web service providers. Automated auctioning processes of a web service desired by the customer are undertaken between the potential customer and the web service providers. The potential customer issues a bid request, and each web service provider determines whether the value of a bid in response to the bid request is below a value warranted by market demand and issues the bid if the value is higher. The potential customer assesses the bid, creating a bid assessment score. The potential customer performs an iteration on the bid assessment score using a new bid request if the score has improved since a last iteration, while engaging the web service if the score has not improved.

US Patent:
7966382, Jun 21, 2011
Filed:
Dec 29, 2004
Appl. No.:
11/026864
Inventors:
Devinder S. Ahluwalia - Hillsboro OR, US
Sandip H. Mandera - Hillsboro OR, US
Assignee:
Intel Corporation - Santa Clara CA

US Classification:
709218, 709229, 709230, 370401
Abstract:
Provided are a method, system, and program enabling access to media content in media servers in remote networks. Available devices are discovered in a network capable of being controlled, wherein the devices include at least one media renderer and media servers. An access list is maintained indicating network addresses of a subset of the discovered media servers available in the network. A determination is made of discovered media servers having network addresses indicated in the access list and the media content in the determined media servers is discovered. Indication of the discovered media content from multiple media servers is made in an aggregate content directory of media content. Discovered media renderers are enabled to access media content indicated in the aggregate content directory.

US Patent:
20070002860, Jan 4, 2007
Filed:
Jun 30, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/173638
Inventors:
Frederick Cooper - Portland OR, US
Sandip Mandera - Hillsboro OR, US
International Classification:
H04L 12/56
US Classification:
370392000
Abstract:
A method and system for a digital home network trace and debug tool is described. The system includes a network filter driver to capture packets from a network, a network sniffer manager to manage the network filter driver, a state engine to manage states of the received packets, a packet parser to determine a transport protocol type and a format type for a received packet, one or more packet type parsers to parse the received packets according to the determined format type, and a GUI to display information associated with the received packets. The method includes receiving a packet at a network device, determining whether a source IP address matches a device IP address in a GUI, determining whether a destination IP address matches a device IP address in the GUI, and determining a transport protocol type, and parsing the packet according to the determined transport protocol type. Network packets may be linked or split up as necessary to make logical protocol specific commands. The protocols may also be validated against digital home industry standards.
